to be

The structures with the verb to be used to communicate several useful aspects such as "talk about a person's name, nationality, where is your profession, how you feel and describe the characteristics of someone or something.

Depends on the meaning of the phrase deduce which of the two is.

simple present tense

in the affirmative, in the third person singular, add an "S" to the verb.

EXAMPLE: *  He eats vegetables. He eats vegetables.
                      *Alice dances at the theater.


In interrogative and negative mode using the auxiliary DO, but in the third person singular DOES stands as ancillary and removes the "S" to the verb.

For the negative form can be employed in contracted form of DO DO NOT place of or instead of DOES DOES NOT.
